M61SME-S2 O/C options?

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p…cture=Gigabyte

If anyone has this or knows of it, I need to know what options are available in the bios for overclocking, max ram volts, ram timings control, ht control, cpu multi and frequecy control? I downloaded the manual and it didn’t say to much about overclocking. Thanks.

Overclocking P35: comments thread

I’ve just started another of those Overclocking Diaries I do from time to time, just here. This time it is dealing with overclocking P35.

Any comments, suggestions, information etc; please place it in this thread. Please note that "stop doing these diaries" is not an acceptable comment…:p

Reducing Vcore Voltage

HOw do I decrease my vcore voltage? I have a MSI P6N SLI Non-platinum. In the bios it was a setting for VCOre but it’s at 0. You can change it but the numbers don’t make much sense. Any help?

Need help overclocking!

First off I’ll describe my machine:

CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 2.13GHz (OCed to 2.28GHz)

Motherboard
ASUS P5B-VM

Memory
PNY 1GB PC5400 667MHz

Next I’ll describe my current BIOS settings:

JumperFree Configuration
AI tuning - Manual
CPU Frequency - 286
Multiplier - 8 (MAX)
DRAM Frequency - DDR2 - 667MHz
PCI Express Frequency - Auto
Spread Spectrum - Disabled
Memory Voltage - 1.80V
CPU VCore Voltage - 1.4375V

CPU Configuration
Modify Ratio - Disabled
C1E Support - Enabled
Max CPUID Value Limit - Disabled
CPU TM Function - Enabled
Execute Disable Bit - Enabled
PECI - Enabled

Memory Mapping

DRAM CAS# Latency - 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay - 6 DRAM Clocks
DRAM RAS# Precharge - 6 DRAM Clocks
DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge - 15 DRAM Clocks
DRAM Write Recovery Time - 6 DRAM Clocks
DRAM TRFC - 30 DRAM Clocks

Current Temps
CPU - 23 C / 73 F
Motherboard - 32 C / 89.5 F

I keep hanging at these settings and would like some input as far as what I should go about trying next. My system is liquid cooled and the RAM has heat spreaders. Also, I’ve run multiple full system stress tests 24hrs+ (2 at a time 1 for each core) and everything runs stable. Any input at this point would be great!

overclocking…..

right now for a few days i had my e6600 overclocked at 2.7( fairly low compared to some peoples s you probably know) but then my comp kept failingto boot and did the 3 attempts the bios resets to default settings… that was the last time a month ago.. i tried again 2nite aiming for 2.6 odd setting it to 288×9 … straight away no post and 3 restarts… so i decided ill give it a ask on here see if any1 knows whats up…

1 x Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4ghz) Socket 775 FSB1066 4MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
1 x OCZ 2GB Kit (2×1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 5-5-5-12 GOLD XTC *SPECIAL OPS* ED
1 x Zalman Heatpipe CPU cooler with quiet 110mm blue LED fan

Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

thats the stuff im working with

and to attempt the overclock ive bin altering the fsp speed as i mentioned then setting the voltage thing to auto as the bios instructs… am i missing something? or is this auto function not likely to work well… even though its what i used for my stable for a few days overclock of 2.7…

well i hope that all makes sense midnight post lol

thanks for reading and replies..

Heh. Overclocked my video card and it ran slower

I thought I’d mess around and overclock my geForce 6600 PCIe w/ 256mb Video card. Original speed is 300/500mhz. in 3Dmark 2001se I get about 12500 benchmark score.

When I OCed it to 320/520mhz. The score DROPPED 5000 points and I received 7,400 points. I also noticed that it took longer to render images on the monitor.

I’m running my CPU and RAM at stock settings.

Does anyone know if this can happen? I’m just curious. Regardless of what the cause was I’m not going to keep it overclocked.

FSB confusion when buying parts for oc’ing

Ok I am a little confused on the FSB and overclocking with respect to buying components. Say I buy a cpu with FSB 1066Mhz and a mb that has 1066/800Mhz (whats this second number by the way) and I buy DDR2 800. Now if I wanted to overclock all of this stuff what are my limitations?

Does this mean that the max FSB I can have when oc’ing is 1066Mhz and must rely on the multiplier to get over the 2.4Ghz the cpu is rated at? What does this all mean for the max capability of the memory? With FSB 1066Mhz wont the memory be running at 2132Mhz and therefore wasting the potential of the memory of 6400Mhz?

Asking for help with MSI board

My first post. Yeah!!

I’m setting up a system for an arcade cabinet, and I’m trying to get whatever horsepower I can out of it. Here’s the specs:
MSI RS482M4-ILD
1GB PC 3200
AMD X64 3000+
On-board ATI x300
Copper-core CPU cooler (generic, but seems to work well)

I’d like to OC to at least 2GHz, but so far haven’t had much luck. I tried changing the multiplier but it will only let me decrease it, if I set it higher then reboot it always goes back. (Setting it in the bios).

I’d also be interested in tweaks to XP (beyond what’s obvious) to improve performance on this dedicated machine.

Thanks!
Blue

q6600 g0 owners - what is your min. stable vcore @ 9×333?

Topic says it all. I’m only interested in your vcore @ 9×333 if you own a g0 Q6600 and you minimized the vcore and if it’s stable to 2x orthos or prime95 v25.3 for over say 4 hours. It would also be cool to see your VID as reported in coretemp. So I guess I’d like to see two things:

1) Your minimized vcore @ 9×333 (g0 q6600)
2) A screenshot of Coretemp under load to see your VID and temps

Thanks in advance!
