Is there any site that i can learn how to use the differnt features on my z5500 speakers? I can put it on 6 ch direct, 2x stereo etc… i want to know whats best for gaming, music, movies. Does anyone know where i can find that information?

Terrible Feedback

So some have commented on the terrible state of my mic on TS.

I was having a video chat with a m8 in Canada using my headset.

i could hear myself reverbing and echoing through his system really badly.

Any ideas on fixing it?

My mobo uses Realtek so I’m not sure about setting.

Internet: Excessively Slow

For some reason or another, not only do websites download at a speed that is quite slower than my old computer, when I attempt to download a file it is even slower (sometimes less than 1KB/second). It’s getting rather irritating.

Okay, I’m not sure all of the stuff I need to tell you, but I can tell you that I do NOT have McAffe (I have AVG), nor do I have any sort of phishing filter turned on at the moment. I have tried that whole autotuning thing, as well as some others I can’t recall at the moment. If it helps, my network card is an "Intel 82566DC Gigabit Platform LAN Connect." I know that it isn’t my network because my other computer, which uses Windows XP, works completely fine on the same network.

STOP THE INSANITY!

Well, it’s that time again, where I bore you all with tales of my semi-competent overclocking. This time it’s time for Intel’s latest chipset, P35. This thread is locked, and any comments etc should go in this thread.

The rig is:

Intel Q6600 Core 2 Duo Quad, low power edition, G0 stepping.
Thermalright Ultra 120A cooler with 120mm 55cfm fan
Asus P5K-E WiFi AP motherboard
2 x 1GB OCZ PC2 1066 DDR RAM
BFG nVidia 8800GTX
2 x Maxtor DiamondMax20 80GB SATA HDDs in RAID 0
1x Maxtor DiamondMax20 80GB SATA HDD for data
2 x Samsung Writemaster SATA DVD-RW
On-board sound
Antec Nine Hundred case

Windows PX Pro SP2, fully updated.

Benchmarks used:

CPU-Z v 1.41 for speeds

Stability testing with the above plus Orthos and the ever-popular TES IV: Oblivion.

Most of the settings for this board can be found under “Advanced” -> “Jumper Free”. Most things are set to Auto by default, so many have been left like that. In the cases where I have changed things a certain degree of guesswork has been involved as to what to set initially.

Those initial settings are:

AI Overclocking, CPU Ration control and DRAM Timing Control all set to Manual to unlock the various overclocking options.

CPU Ratio = 9
FSB Strap to Northbridge = Auto
FSB Freq = 266
PCI-E Freq = 100
DRAM Freq = 1067

Command Rate = 2T
CAS = 5
RAS -> CAS = 5
RAS Precharge = 5
RAS -> Active = 15

That is, RAM main timings are 2T, 5-5-5-15

RAS->RAS delay = 10
Row Refresh Cycle = 25

Write Recovery, Write to Read Delay, Read to Precharge, DRAM Static Read Control all = Auto

Transaction Booster = Disabled
Clock Overcharging Mode = Auto
CPU and PCI=E Spread Spectrum = Disabled

Under “CPU Configuration”, everything (such as C1E Support etc) is disabled.

CPU voltage = 1.2500
CPU Voltage Reference = Auto
CPU Voltage Damper = Enabled
CPU PLU Voltage = 1.6
DRAM Voltage = 2.00
FSB Term Voltage = 1.30V
Northbridge Voltage = 1.40V
Northbridge Voltage Reference = Auto
Southbridge Voltage = 1.05V

Where I have a rough idea what something does, I’ve set a value. The CPU and RAM voltages are roughly right (and if I set the RAM any higher Asus Probe doesn’t load properly – a sure sign of RAM instability. Other voltages are basically one notch above the lowest selectable. The RAM timings are ones I know work, as this is the RAM I was using in my Asus P5N32-E SLI until it started acting up (but the problem is the motherboard itself).

As usual, I ran a set of benchmarks to show baseline performance and to check stability. I also ran Oblivion for a couple of hours to test basic stability – still the most reliable test I know. Here are the initial benchmarks:

SB Audigy 2 ZS PROBLEM

I am having some problems with this sound card.

I can’t get the center or back speakers in a 5.1 setup to work.

When running a channel test it sounds off all speakers through the two front speakers. It says.. Front Left, Center, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right but it sounds off through the front speakers only.

It’s not setup in digital only it’s all analog…

HELP me lol

My games blow with out surround sound.

It did work fine before, I unplugged it all to clean it an I had some problems plugging it back and in and then I updated the drivers and hasnt been the same since.

Web limitations (looking for usefull feature)

As menciond in another thred Timelimitations for I-net (same as for computer use) I have enabled [Limit functions] on my kids accounts on the new computer with Vista.

[Control panel] -> [User Acounts and famely safety] -> [Limit functions]
(Dont got English version so I dont know exactely what the names are but I’ll try som direct translation and will hope that you know what I’m talking about)
Feel free to correct me so that I will be using the correct terms and names..

I have turned on something called [Web limitations] with customised pages, so that we have to accept the web sites they access.
We tested it and it looked like it worked fine.
If we went to a site we had not added to the accept-list she diddent get to access the page.
On that page however it said something like:
If You want access to this erea You need premission. Ask a administrator for premission
Here one have to type inn the admin password and then continiue the prosess (This can take ages as some webpages redirect to god knows how many different url’s I tryed with hotmail.no and had to add like 5 different sites to the list I think… Not the smartest thing with other words..)

But it is this that triggers my question for a usefull feature and I was was woundering if anyone knew if I could set it up so that insted of Admin being needed to login, they could ask for premission for that page.
And this request would be sendt to the Admin account, sort of as a e-mail prinsipe, when Admin logs on Admin can then review the requests for new web pages and take the desission wheter or not he wants to acces the dir\fferent accounts access to the web pages they have asked premission for.

Did this make any sence at all? :(

Q6600 overclocking help with Asus P5B

From what I can tell Asus P5B is a horrible overclocker. Failed to overclock my celeron 420 and my new Q6600. Anyone overclock their Q6600 using Asus P5B.

Overclocking my asus F3s

ok so i bought the asus f3s laptop, my processer speed is a 2.o but its only running around 1200, so i downloaded cpuz, its showing im set up at 199.5 for my bus speed but my multiplier is only at 6 clocks, sometimes hits 8 like atm, and every once in a while it will hit the 10 for my clock but its only for a brief second so i was wondering could this be a problem with the default clock speed, and if so would overclocking it fix it?
